I believe my 2 cats have herpes virus 1, a friend said I should first try giving them Terramycin to clear their eyes up because it can also help the body fight of the virus. What should I do? P.S. I have 1 female& one male cat both adults& female is spayed.

I have some tenderness but no visible discoloring or rash around a patch of skin on my right upper thigh. This has been going on for about 5 days. After doing some internet research, I think I might be one of the millions of people who have some form of herpes but do not know it due to very mild, almost symptomless recurrences. I have linked my skin tenderness to a possible herpes infection but I can’t find any hard information on a typical recurrence’s duration.
My poor 6 month old kitten “Tangerine” has feline herpes. I have been giving him Lysine twice a day orally and Zithromax once a day orally and Terramycin twice a day for his eye. I have been giving him these for about 5 – 6 days now and I am not seeing much improvement. What is the average time period on when the symptons dissapear?
His symptons at the moment are:
Runny Nose
Discharge from the nose
Discharge from one eye
Closed sore eye
Sneezing a lot
Low Energy
Noisy Breathing
All answers are welcome and are appreciated.
Thanks!
I learned that oral herpes and coldsores are the same thing. I heard that you shouldnt kiss someone with a coldsore because you can get it. I think someone gave me herpes on my mouth because every now and then I get little sore areas on my lips, but they are mostly where the lips meet and I know they arent canker sores. I already have genital herpes and now this. I am depressed.
Okay I hear that it can only be spread by direct contact from person to person. BUT are you able to get it just like if the person with the herpes touches something and then you touch it? One of my family members was recently diagnosed and was told they could have picked it up from the gym or grocery store…how is that possible, because those two places there are barely any person to person contact!
I don’t have it and I just want to know the chances of me getting it if they live in the same household even if I don’t make contact or drink from the same cup as this person.
