A friend of mine got herpes from kissing his girlfriend who had a herpes from eating something expired. And it turned into a viral infection after ,and he got a fever.
My question is if it’s possible that a herpes from eating something expired to be trasmited to another person and to turn into a viral infection.

Herpes can not be transmitted by eating something that is expired.

you don’t get herpes from eating anything, expired or not. You get herpes by skin to skin transmission, or you had chicken pox as a child and that virus mutates into oral herpes. Herpes is a virus, and if a person reacts strongly to the virus, it is possible to become a systemic viral infection in which case it is then called shingles.

Herpes isn’t transmitted through eating expired food. In answer to your question “Is it possible…”, no it is not. Herpes doesn’t turn into a viral infection. It’s ALREADY a viral infection. There are two types of herpes. One is herpes simplex type 1 ( HSV-1). The other is herpes simplex type 2 (HSV-2). HSV-1 is orofacial herpes. Orofacial means mouth and face. HSV-2 is genital herpes.
HSV-1 is carried in saliva and is transmitted by saliva. Kissing, sharing food & drink, touching saliva and then touching one’s face, contacting open lesions with the face and/or mouth — these are some of the ways the virus is transmitted. Another more subtle way is by doing all the above between outbreaks. Viral shedding is an ongoing event and this makes HSV-1 contagious even between outbreaks. The chances are reduced, yes, but still present.
The primary episode of an HSV-1 outbreak is associated with fever along with other symptoms. Do some independent research and learn more about it. Then you can educate your friend. I don’t know who came up with the idea that you get herpes from eating expired food but that’s a load of c**p. My guess is that the girlfriend contracted the virus from some one else and passed it on to your friend.
“essentially_solo”, where did you come up with ” Herpes is a virus, and if a person reacts strongly to the virus, it is possible to become a systemic viral infection in which case it is then called shingles.”?? Shingles, or more correctly herpes zoster, is a reactivation of the dormant varicella zoster virus that hasn’t been cleared from the body after having had chicken pox. You know this!
