a friend by accident shared a drink with someone who has herpes in throat, can she gain herpes by that? how long will it take to show signs of herpes?
she let a friend take a sip from her water bottle and didn’t know her friend had that. She finished the water in the bottle. Please give good answers, she is worried. She had no cold sores and she is virgin.

I’m not sure about a minimum time for an outbreak to occur, but it can sit dormant for weeks, months or years before you experience an outbreak.

i don’t even think it is possible to spread herpes like that… but im not sure.. tell your “friend” that she should just do some research and talk to a doctor if your still not sure.

It’s a big possbility because herpes can “spread” easily. i suggest you to tell your friend to go to the doctors and get a check, or else something bad is going to happen to your friend.

If your friend stuck his herpe infested penis down her throat,Yes. If not very, very doubtful. Herpes doesnt generaly hapen in the throat. Usually on the lips or genital region. If shes that worried go get tested.

depends what type of herpes the person has. I mean theres type 1 and 2. I believe one is usually cold sores and almost everyone has had in their life time and goes away on its own. However type 2 is generally genital herpes and is transmitted through sexual contact, so if they had type 2 in the throat which could of happened from oral sex with an infected partner. However not everyone Shows signs of herpes for years, or months, thats why alot of times people do not think they have anything and then pass it along to other partners :S. And its scary 1 in 4 have herpes or 1 in 5 something scary like that. However It doesnt always show up in your blood either because type 2, stays in your nervous system and sometimes comes out very little, or not at all. So its pretty much impossible to say……. I would tell your friend to keep getting checked out (via blood tests for herpes) every month to see if anything shows up or sooner if there are any blisters!

She can if she shared a drink with some one that gets cold sores (can be caused by oral herpes). But she would have to take a drink with in seconds of the other person taking a drink. There would be a better chance if she kissed the person while they had an out break of cold sores. Cold sores are often invisible, one could have an out break a long time a go then never have one again.
Any type of herpes usually takes between 2-14 days to show symptoms, but it could take longer then that because your immune system can suppress the virus for months even years after contracting it.
Virgins can get cold sores too, all it takes is to kiss some one that has cold sores. You don’t have to have sex to get cold sores.
