What happens when you get herpes in your eyes?

Is it easy to get herpes in the eyes if you have genital herpes? And if so what are the symptoms of herpes in the eyes?

  If you have genital herpes and touch the infected area it is possible to infect other areas of skin as well. Im not sure about the symptoms of herpes around the eye but Im certain they would probably be the same as herpes anywhere else. Always wash your hands with an antibacterial soap after using the restroom especially during an outbreak. And never touch another area of skin before washing your hands. It will prevent spreading the virus to other parts of your body.

  Herpes in the eye (occular herpes) can cause blindness, especially if you are immuno compromised. If you have herpes (genital or oral- cold sores) and get a tingling around the eye, pain in the eye and sores see the dr urgently!
